Easy Shortbread

Making shortbread for your coffee break is easy, with only a few simple ingredients, and steps:

1. Mix one stick of softened non-salted butter with a pinch of salt, teaspoon of vanilla, and cup of sugar, which could be Splenda blend + confectioners for reduced sugar.

2. Mix in a cup of flour.

3. Turn into a ball on a floured surface.

4. Roll into a circle on parchment paper on a cookie sheet.

5. Press edges with fork, pierce decorative holes. Perhaps add walnut halves. Sprinkle with flavored sugar.

6. Press light wedge cuts with butter knife, then bake 22 minutes at 300F.

7. Remove and press deep wedge cuts with butter knife, then bake 10 minutes more at 300F.

8. Turn off oven and let sit in oven for one hour.

Done! Enjoy! You can customize how you want your shortbread shaped. These are firmer for dunking in coffee or tea.
